Privacy Policy
Hue works without an account and collects nothing in that state. If you create an account, it stores one small thing and nothing else. This page explains both states.
Last updated 20 August 2026. This policy covers the iOS app Hue, bundle identifier ai.biaslabs.hue, published by Bias Labs. From version 1.1, the app offers an optional account.
Without an account
Hue has no sign-in wall and nothing in the app requires an account. Without one, Hue collects no data. It makes no network requests. Every palette is generated on your device by arithmetic, not fetched from a server. The app works with your phone in airplane mode, and behaves the same either way.
With an account
Creating an account is optional. It exists for one purpose: to keep your saved palettes when you delete the app or move to a new phone. The app works fully without it.
An account is created with Sign in with Apple. Hue asks Apple for your Apple user identifier — the opaque string Apple gives each app for each of its accounts — and it stores that identifier on its server. It does not ask Apple for your name, email or photo, and none of those reach Hue.
The second thing stored is your list of saved palettes. Each saved palette is kept as a pair of integers: which feed it came from and its position in that feed. That is the same recipe the app keeps on your device, rebuilt into colors the same way. Hue stores no colors, no hex values, no names, no device information and nothing about how you use the app.
The third thing stored is a token Apple issues when you sign in. Hue keeps it for exactly one purpose: to tell Apple to end the connection between your Apple ID and Hue when you delete your account. It cannot be used to read anything about you, and Hue never uses it for anything else.
So the complete list of what Hue stores about an account is: the Apple user identifier, a list of (feed, index) integer pairs, and that one Apple token. Nothing else.
What is stored on your device
Only the palettes you choose to save, kept in the storage belonging to the app, as a short recipe — a feed number and a position — never as personal information. Without an account, nothing ever leaves the device. With an account, saving a palette also sends that same recipe to Hue's server, so it survives a new phone.
Deleting the app deletes the palettes stored on that device. With an account, signing in again brings the saved palettes back from the server. Without one, we cannot restore them, because we never had them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app, without asking anyone. Open the saved list with the grid button, tap the person button in the top bar, then tap Delete account and confirm.
The request first tells Apple to end the connection between your Apple ID and Hue, so Hue also disappears from the "Sign in with Apple" list in your iPhone settings. It then erases the Apple user identifier, the list of saved palettes and the Apple token stored under it, and signs you out everywhere: every session on every device is ended in the same operation. The erase happens immediately; nothing is held in a grace period and nothing is retained afterwards. After that, signing in with the same Apple ID creates a new, empty account, because Hue does not receive the email Apple keeps private.
If Hue cannot reach Apple at that moment, it deletes nothing at all and tells you to try again. It will not erase your account while leaving the connection to your Apple ID in place.
Deleting the app does not delete the account. If you no longer have the app installed, email ozan@biaslabs.ai and we will do it for you.
Third parties
There are none. Hue contains no advertising, no tracking software and no third-party code libraries. The only service the app talks to, and only when you have an account, is Hue's own server. Nothing in the app follows you across other apps or websites.
Permissions
Hue asks for no permissions. It does not use your camera, photos, microphone, location or contacts. Copying a color writes to your clipboard, which only happens when you tap Copy, and Hue never reads your clipboard.
Children
Hue is rated 4+ and is safe for any age. Without an account it collects no data at all, so it collects no data from children. With an account, the data held is limited to what is described above, and a parent or guardian can delete it from inside the app, or ask us to by email.
Your rights
Without an account we hold nothing about you, so there is nothing to show you or delete. With an account, you can ask to see what we hold or to delete it, both by emailing ozan@biaslabs.ai. You can also remove everything Hue has ever stored on a device by deleting the app.
Changes to this policy
If a future version of Hue ever collects anything beyond what is described here, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described in the release notes for the app.
